CCGSCA Race #3, August 7th, Great Lakes Dragaway

Postby Turbo-Fun on Fri Jul 23, 2010 12:22 am

*August 7th, Saturday CCGSCA Race #4 - Great Lakes Dragaway, Union Grove
Wisconsin. We will be scheduled with the Nitrous Street Car Brawl (NSCB)

I haven't talked to Lynne about the race schedule but we can plan on it being about the same as our previous race with the Nitrous Street Car Brawlers.
We need to be ready to go by 2:00 pm. Two qualifying rounds and then eliminations. If you want more than two rounds of T&T you can arrive early and run with the T&T cars. Please don't enter the T&T lanes after 1:30 pm to avoid getting trapped in the T&T lane when they call us to our lanes for qualifying. Our pit area will be the same as the last NSCB race. At the last NSCB race we were finished in time to sit back and watch the Wise Guys, Midwest Super Stocks, Midwest Gassers, Outlaws, and IMSM pro classes. This is a great event to race at and then spectate.

Again I will need to fax a participant list to GLD in order to guarantee our club entry fee. This is important because they Do check the list at the gate. If you are a spectator and you will NOT be entering with a race participant, You will need your name on the list. If you are entering with a race participant, I will Not need your name. I would like to fax the list to Randy at GLD on Thursday August 5th. Please post up by August 5th if you will be attending, or if you think you will be attending. It's better to have your name on the list and not show up than to decide to go at the last minute and not have your name on the list.

The Cookout Director has called and requested another cookout for this race. He has not decided on a menu yet. When he does we will post the details. We will try to get the famous "Chef Jacque" to return again to showoff his perfect grilling talents for the Chicagoland Buick Family. I'll even throw in a 12 pack if he will agree to cook again.

Two races down and Three to go. It's still anyones series to win :) . The second race showed that even an underdog can win putting the heavy hitters on notice that we have you in our sights. Race three is a pivitol race and I think we are going to see a drastic change in the points standings. Our races are becoming closer and closer. Everyone seems to be bringing their game to the track. There's nothing better than some good clean Competition!!! BRING IT.....

I didn't know you were out for the season. The last issue I knew you had was with carburators (whatever that is??? ). Well, whatever it is just take your time and get it right. I knew Ed wasn't telling the truth when he told me you were afraid to race with the big boys.....

Cookout MENU for Race #3

Italian Beef with Dan Rocco's homemade Sweet Peppers. Hot and Mild Giardinara...
Pasta Salad My daughters homemade recipe, prepared by Cindy...
Asian Coleslaw Salad Shari Bonecutter will be making this from scratch...
Watermellon Ice Cold and Refreshing...
Cookies Homemade Surprise (Not Chocolate Chip)...

I am going to bring extra tables so we can all sit down and enjoy our meal. I will bring some extra chairs but if you could bring a chair that would help. Yes, we will sit at the table together just like one big happy (Buick) family...

Let's plan on eating after our qualifying runs. After all, GS driver's will need to eat to build up their strength so they can handle all that TORQUE during eliminations.....

Don't feel sorry for him Jack, My "little" brother Steve has not one but TWO perfectly good and strong running cars that he could race... :P :D

UPDATE;
The above list has been faxed to Randy at GLD. If your name is not on the list and would like to attend call me (630-915-5639) and I will add it on Saturday when I get to GLD. You just have to make sure you get there after me... . Just a reminder the entry fee (Chicagoland Buick Club) for racing is $25 and for Spectators is $10. Your name does not have to be on the list for the spectator fee if you are with a racing member. Spectators only need to be on the list if you are coming seperate.
***Please note the Schedule for this Saturday's event is listed in a seperate thread. We are starting a little later than our last race with NSCB. Enter through gate one. See ya there...

Dont forget to bring your bug spray, mosquitoes have been quite the little blood suckers in very large masses in the grassy areas. Joe, I added Eric & Jaimie as spectators, but if you cant get them logged in on time, they will be in a car right behind me, I can inform the ticket girl then.

Very good suggestion...Thanks. Those little buggers are even out during the day :x . Another reminder is to bring chairs and a pop up tent to add to our tent city.
There won't be a problem as long as your friends enter with you. I will take their names with me and put them on the list when I get there just to make sure. I plan on getting there early to take advantage of the test and tune.
I just picked up 15 pounds of Italian beef and gravy. As race chairman I proclaim Saturday to be a day off from diets....Bring an appetite :D
